Case Study: Cross-Contaminant Testing
Ongoing, routine quality control testing is an important risk prevention tool for suppliers to be able to demonstrate upfront that the product they are delivering is not contaminated or compromised. Common quality control assessments include monitoring raw materials for certain specifications from initial receiving to time of use. Were the raw materials compromised, or did they lose integrity after they were received? Do the materials from an alternate supplier meet quality standards?
Background
A client wanted a to investigate re-purposed shipping containers for cross-contamination of raw materials to ensure that they are delivering the highest quality product to their customers. They also needed the testing to have a quick turnaround time so that delivery promises could be kept.
Analysis
Scientists at EAG Laboratories developed more than a dozen different methods to test for specific chemicals and monitor portions of every shipment. A GMP laboratory, EAG conducted the testing using a regulatory-level approach.
